“I am not what happened to me,
I am what I chose to become.”
- Carl Jung
Hi, I’m Louise and I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, working in Stourport-on-Severn. I’m a registered member of the British Association for Psychotherapists and Counsellors (BACP) and follow their ethical framework.
I offer professional counselling for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as counselling services and support to school settings.
I have worked across various settings, including specialist counselling services, multi-disciplinary teams and education environments, as well as private practice. In my practice I have supported clients of all ages with various mental health difficulties and emotional distress. I've also worked with numerous neurodiverse clients, many of whom have faced difficulties navigating a world largely designed for neurotypical individuals.
There are times in life when any of us can feel lost, anxious, unhappy or alone. It can be isolating and overwhelming while having detrimental effects on our day to day lives.
I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings openly, and at their own pace. I work in a client centred way, tailoring the therapy to fit your needs.
Taking the first step in seeking support can be the most difficult. My aim is to help make your experience a positive and empowering one.
A bit about me…
Therapy Approach
My practice is rooted in humanistic, or person centred, counselling, which places your experiences and perspective at the heart of the therapeutic process. In addition to this I utilise aspects of other therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to enhance the work we do together, tailoring the therapy to meet your individual needs.
Holistic
An holistic approach in counselling treats the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than just focusing on specific symptoms or disorders.
Where appropriate, I use creative and therapy practices, alongside mindfulness-based interventions such as grounding, body scans and breathwork. This holistic approach helps clients navigate their feelings and challenges in a way that honours their whole self — mind, body, and spirit..
Connection
The therapeutic relationship is the very heartbeat of effective therapy. It forms the basis upon which trust, empathy, and understanding flourish.
I aim to provide a foundation of safety and acceptance, ensuring each client feels seen, heard, and supported throughout their journey.
Empowerment and growth
Counselling can do more than give relief to current problems. It builds self-awareness, confidence, and independence, helping people cope with future challenges and lowering the chance of relapse.
As a counsellor, I help clients build self-worth and resilience by validating their feelings and giving space for self-discovery. Seeking help is not weakness but a brave step toward your true self.
